CrossMark

CrossMark

ScientificScholar participates in the Crossmark scheme, a multi-publisher initiative from Crossref to provide a standard way for readers to locate the current version of the article.

By applying the Crossmark logo ScientificScholar is committed to maintaining the content it publishes and to alerting readers to changes if and when they occur. With one click, you can see if content has been updated, corrected or retracted and access valuable additional metadata provided by ScientificScholar. When you click on the crossmark button a pop-up box appears that headlines the current status of the content up-to-date, updates available, or retracted, and also displays all of the additional information.

Updates

Crossmark “updates” provide details on changes that are likely to effect “the interpretation or crediting of the work.” In other words, updates are editorially significant changes. Updates do not reflect minor changes such as spelling corrections, formatting changes, etc. These are few types of “update” that are depicted within Crossmark.

Retraction

If an article is retracted a HTML pages are replaced by a single page with citation details and an explanation. The PDF pages remain with a watermark on every page to notify it is retracted. Crossmark will also indicate a retraction.
